Rhinowin-DS Syrup IP
Phenylephrine HCl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg per 5 mL
Product Description
Rhinowin-DS is a prescription combination syrup formulated for symptomatic relief in common cold and upper respiratory tract allergy-related discomfort. It combines a nasal decongestant with an antihistamine to help reduce blocked nose, runny nose, sneezing, and nasal irritation. The formulation is suitable for physician-guided use, especially in pediatric practice where symptom control and tolerability are important.
Composition
Each 5 mL contains:
- Phenylephrine Hydrochloride IP — 5 mg
- Chlorpheniramine Maleate IP — 2 mg
- Flavoured syrup base — q.s.
Mechanism of Action
Rhinowin-DS works through a dual-action approach:
- Phenylephrine HCl is a nasal decongestant that helps reduce swelling of nasal blood vessels, thereby easing nasal blockage.
- Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that blocks histamine activity, helping relieve sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching associated with cold and allergic symptoms.
Together, these ingredients provide supportive symptomatic relief in common cold conditions.
